Meet Your Instructor, Jackie Flynn, EdS, LMHC-S, RPT-S™
Hi, I’m Jackie Flynn. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve been in the field of trauma therapy for a long time now, and my work has been shaped by years of sitting with children, families, and clinicians who carry deep stories. I started as a school counselor and teacher before becoming a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and EMDR Trainer. Over time, I’ve built a body of work focused on integrating play, attachment, and EMDR therapy in a way that honors the uniqueness of each child while staying true to the model that Francine Shapiro gave us.
Through EMDR Playground, EMDR with Kids, and the Play Therapy Community, I’ve had the privilege of teaching therapists all over the world. My heart has always been in helping clinicians feel confident, creative, and connected to the deeper purpose of their work.
This EMDR Refresher is a chance to slow down and remember what makes EMDR such a transformative therapy. It’s not about learning something new for the sake of more information. It’s about reconnecting with what we already know in our bones how healing happens when safety, presence, and process come together.
You’ll hear me talk about fidelity a lot because I believe integrity to the model gives us the freedom to be flexible. When we know where the edges are, we can play within them in ways that are ethical, attuned, and effective.
My hope is that this course helps you feel grounded again in the work you already do so beautifully, and that it gives you fresh energy for what comes next.
