Hey there,
I made the Being Human Card Deck as a nervous system informed reflection tool for the therapy room. It is an invitation to slow down, notice the ordinary moments of life, and explore the feelings, memories, and experiences that make us human.
The images hold familiar pieces of everyday life. Two coffee mugs sitting side by side. An empty chair at the table. Sunlight coming through a window. A favorite teddy bear resting on a shelf. A road stretching toward the horizon. Simple things that can hold different meanings for each of us.
You might use a card to explore connection, belonging, comfort, change, or the things we carry with us. Some images may bring warmth or joy. Others may stir sadness, longing, uncertainty, or hope. Some may bring nothing at all. Whatever comes up is welcome.
These cards can be integrated into EMDR, play therapy, talk therapy, family work, or other clinical approaches. They can support exploration of emotions, relationships, memories, resilience, self-compassion, and the everyday experiences that shape our lives.
There is no single way to be human, and no right way to make meaning of what we experience. Sometimes the simplest moments remind us that our stories matter, our feelings belong, and we are all connected by the experience of being human.
