A card for every place connection can be — closeness, distance, rupture, and the way back.
52 illustrated cards built for the therapy room. No script, no right answer — just images that help a client show you where they are, without having to find the words first.
Hi, I'm Jackie
I'm a play therapist and EMDR consultant who kept reaching for the same thing in session: a way for clients to show me where they are with connection, before they had the words to say it.
Connection Continuum came out of that gap. Every card is something I've watched happen in a room, drawn simply enough to hold whatever a client brings to it.
“I made this deck as a play based clinical tool for the therapy room. It is meant to support attachment work by helping clients notice how connection moves and changes over time.”
“The images in this deck reflect moments of closeness, distance, rupture, and return. There is no right way to use these cards. One card can hold many layers without needing interpretation.”
Every relationship moves along a continuum
Drag the marker below — the same way the deck's cover card lays it out — and watch a single relationship travel from distance back to closeness.
Slide through a moment
Each position on the deck's diagonal layout is its own card. This is one path a relationship might take — yours may move differently, and that's the point.
How the deck works, straight from the instructions card
Every deck ships with its own how-to card, written for the client sitting across from you.
Pick one card
Take one slow breath. Notice what you feel. If it feels like too much, set it down and look around the room.
Sit with it
Some cards feel comforting. Some feel hard or far away. All of it is information — no interpretation required.
Choose a different card
This is a reflection tool, not therapy on its own. Pairs naturally with EMDR, play therapy, talk therapy, and family work.
Built in the therapy room, by someone who's sat in it
Jackie Flynn created Connection Continuum to give clients a way into attachment work that doesn't start with a question they can't yet answer. Every image was drawn to hold many layers at once — safe enough to pick up, honest enough to matter.
“If a card resonates, stay with it. If it doesn't, set it aside. The deck will be here when it is needed.”
