A 3 hour advanced training that helps therapists integrate nature based metaphors, projective tools, and play principles into all eight phases of EMDR while staying true to the model.

This 3-hour self-paced course teaches therapists to integrate The Resilient Self Therapeutic Card Deck into EMDR Phase 2 (Preparation) and Phase 8 (Reevaluation) to strengthen nervous-system resilience through play, embodiment, and imagination. Rooted in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model, Polyvagal Theory, and Gestalt/Play Therapy, participants learn how to use animal imagery and creative digital-play tools to enhance regulation and integration with children and adolescents.

This course supports EMDR trained clinicians in using family and dyadic EMDR applications to strengthen parent child relationships and increase the capacity for co regulation and repair after rupture. Grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing model and play therapy principles, the course focuses on observing interaction patterns that maintain symptoms, selecting attachment focused targets, and using structured dyadic play to help the parent and child stay regulated together while new relational experiences are built. Participants will learn phase informed ways to involve caregivers in EMDR preparation, resourcing, and selected reprocessing while keeping EMDR phase fidelity clear and protecting the child’s safety and voice.

Participants will learn how to document EMDR phases, targets, readiness decisions, and processing outcomes in a way that reflects the child’s developmental presentation and the play based clinical data that often carries the most accurate information. The course also teaches practical progress monitoring methods to track regulation, attachment functioning, symptoms, phase completion, and target shifts over time, so clinicians can make better clinical decisions,

Participants will learn how dissociative protection impacts readiness, pacing, target selection, and integration across EMDR phases. The course emphasizes phase fidelity, dual attention, fractionation, and containment, with play therapy integrated as a developmentally responsive way to assess state, support co regulation, and maintain safety during processing. Content is delivered through teaching, case examples, and practice invitations focused on clinical decision making.

This course supports EMDR trained clinicians in using storytelling, metaphor, and bibliotherapy as developmentally responsive and play therapy informed methods within EMDR treatment. Grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing model, the course teaches clinicians to use story and symbol as clinical data for targeting and as structured supports for integration and positive cognition installation. Participants will learn how to select and use books with intention, track state shifts and meaning making, and maintain EMDR phase fidelity while using narrative interventions that protect the client and support adaptive resolution.
